The heat here sucks

It is SO hot.
asher is constantly grumpy. he lays around like a blob - see pictures

i finally got my dyson vacuum. my dream come true. it's like the ultimate OCD tool. it can do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. oh and it picks up dog hair.
there are two pics of it - one picture - in front of a cabinet, it what it looked like after vacuuming the entire apartment.
the other one - in front of my bed - is just what i got up in my room.

ew?

asher has been busy with playdates. He and Gracie hung out last week - Gracie is one of three rescue dogs belonging to one of my mom's oldest friends. They gave him the "The Boss" toy. It squeaks and rattles. Nice, my dream come true.

Today he has a playdate with Zelda and Maisy. I'll try to get some pics. Zelda is the dalmatian from the early days of LA. Maisy is the pup of one of my teachers...and we had all been talking about needing a playdate, so we're making it happen. Maisy's mom is the one who told me to get the vacuum.

i have no clue who reads this.
but karen and i finally spoke. which was good.
and heather and i are back on speaking terms. we're eagerly looking for someone to take her spot in the apartment.

and school is fine.

Take that...

i finally went to home depot to get the supplies to fix asher's crate.
he had been hard at work trying to figure out how he thought we should redecorate.
i had my own ideas.

first we see the door - missing its bottom left hand corner (yes he crawls through that opening)

here we have the inside of his crate - i think it looks comfortable?

this is the base of the door panel - some metal that i was able to buy, with some cardboard inbetween to make it a little bigger (that could be the weak spot...we'll see)

The metal cardboard contraption was then covered with duct tape and i used cable ties to attach it to the crate -- the ties are really good bc he cant really get his teeth around it. i used two of those - one vertical one horizontal. they are tied together with some rope (that's michael's influence...had to get some) and then that is covered with the duct tape again.

used more ties, and 3 5 foot chains.
they are connected with screw caribeaners and have to be moved on and off each time.
the bottom lock, which he had ruined, is now a double sided clip.

ill get a pic of him in it eventually....he was happily chewing a bone - and who am i to interupt a good chew!?

apologies

the time was wrong ... it was still set for israel. it should be ok now.

asher

some notes on asher:

he went to his first dog park - loved it. he was exhausted after - and I loved that.

he LOVED fireworks. he stared at them amazed.

he has successfully proven his labrador roots -- he can easily break out of the new crate i got him.

he became a resident of LA county today. among the problems we encountered?
(A) His records are in hebrew more than english
(B) I have no proof that he was neutered
(C) WHAT?! LOOK HE HAS NO BALLS NONE NO BALLS
